Panel 1: Week 1 - Hope

Meaning: Represents the prophets' foretelling of Jesus's coming and the hope for a coming savior.
Romans 15:4;13, "Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit."



Panel 2: Week 2 - Peace

new Candle name: Bethlehem Candle
Meaning: Symbolizes the peace that Jesus's arrival will bring to the world.
Isaiah 9:6, "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."


Panel 3: Week 3 - Joy

new Candle name: Shepherd's Candle
Represents the joy of the shepherds at the news of Jesus's birth. This is often called "Gaudete (gow-day-tay) Sunday," from the Latin word for "rejoice". Philippians 4:4-6, "Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything."

Panel 4: Week 4 - Love

It celebrates the love of God for people and the way we should treat each other.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7, "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."


Panel 5: Christmas - Faith

It marks the celebration of Jesus's birth, the light of the world, which fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament. John 3:16;20-21, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”
